Edificio Siboney

Edificio Siboney
The Siboney building is one of the most striking and original constructions in the extension of Santander, Cantabria. It is located in the Puerto Chico neighborhood and occupies an entire block of houses between Castelar and Juan de La Cosa streets.
It was projected in the year 1931 by the architect from the Canary Islands Jose Enrique Marrero Regalado and turned out to be a very modern building for the time and one which best reflects the expressionist style conserved in the city.
Parting from the outline of a “building/boat” it is characterized by rounded corners, semi-circular balconies and side towers. Today it is destined for living quarters, offices and cafes. It is very well conserved after the reforms which were done a few years ago and which helped it to recover its former beauty and splendor.
